AIMS
The Amethyst Project works with women in rural areas, using a community development approach to make contact with individuals and groups.
It identifies ideas for rurally-based activities and community enterprises arising from the individuals and groups, which address a local community need.
It provides appropriate support to women to develop their ideas.
This includes financial and mentoring support to enable women to undertake the necessary research and development work to bring their ideas to fruition.

This will result in:

Growth in the community enterprise sector in the Peak District.
Opportunities for women on low income to access quality work opportunities.
Support and opportunities for women who have ideas for improving the facilities and services available to them and their communities.
Opportunities for women to improve their skills and experience.
Improved quality of life and well-being for women experiencing social and economic exclusion.
Developing experience in the Peak District of supporting and developing micro, social, community and co-operative ventures.
Contribute to the economic regeneration of rural communities in the Peak District.
