NEW DIRECTIONS FOR WOMEN

This is the title of an event organised by the Women’s Enterprise Project, and sponsored by East Midlands Development Agency. There will be speakers and training sessions and lots of information, all devised to be relevant to rural women who are self employed or in business, or considering one of those options. Rural Business Administration courses in Bakewell and Ashbourne
These courses are open to all and are useful for anyone who does their own farm paperwork or who wants to work with farmers or other rural businesses. It covers accounting and business issues as well as some farm specific topics. It leads to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 2 or 3.
Derbyshire Adult Community Education are running the course at The Agricultural Business Centre in Bakewell on Tuesday mornings, starting in September or October; and at the Ashbourne Adult Community Education Centre on Wednesday mornings starting on 20th September.

The content will be taken from the anti discrimination training pack produced by the Peak District Rural Deprivation Forum and others. The pack supports the development of good equal opportunities practice in rural areas.

year's event will focus on business and community, as
well as creativity, health and fun. Claire Mitchell of
the UKOnline Centre and Staffs Adult Community Education
will be running a tee-shirt printing workshop. Janet Brightmore
and Sue Scholes of the LEADER+ Women's Enterprise Project
are providing light hearted practical sessions on life
and business skills. Art therapy, homeopathy and reflexology
input will be supplied by the Amethyst Community Enterprises.
There
will be singing - Judith Higgins will help women have
fun discovering their hidden voices. Jules Sebelin is
returning by popular request to entertain and inform about
women in community enterprise and the umbrella organisation
they have developed in Derby.

Harvey, who is a certified trainer in Nonviolent Communication,
will introduce this practical learnable process. Participants
will be able to work with examples from real life, to
move towards a way of communicating that enhances understanding

Panto in Buxton: CINDERELLA
Once
again Amethyst has been offered up to 50 FREE seats for
the pantomime at the Buxton Opera House at 7pm on Wednesday
15th December. This year's show is Cinderella, and through
the Mayor of High Peak's appeal the Opera House is setting
aside this special performance for children and their families
who would not otherwise be able to go.
If you would like to take your child/ren but the cost is
putting you off, then this opportunity is for you - please

Opera House on Monday December 15th at 7pm FREE to children
and young people with their families and carers who would
